CURRENT STATUS OF CHURCH Sister Gail A. Addis, I.H.M, was appointed Pastoral Administrator by Bishop Kenneth Untener on July 1, 2003 following the death of Fr. Raymond Fron on December 14, 2002. Sister Joanne Witucki I.H.M. was appointed Pastoral Associate at that time. Both sisters are members of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Sisters in Monroe, Michigan. The I.H.M. sisters are Catholic women bound together in faith with a dedication to continue the liberating mission of Jesus by serving the needs of God’s people. Their ministries include education as well as pastoral care, justice advocacy, church and parish ministry, spiritual and psychological counseling, social service and direct service to those who ar poor in the United States and developing nations.
The Parish team consists of Ruth Neitzel, Director of Religious Education and Lisa Senk, Good Shepherd and Youth Coordinator. Cynthia Holysko is the parish secretary and Annette Eilf is housekeeper. Tom Noonan is maintenance supervisor and Joe Tacey is the Village Hall manager. John VanDenBoom serves as the Minister of Music.
St. Joseph is an active city parish with many ongoing activities previously described in the Organization section.
Elementary and Youth Faith Formation/Education Opportunities: This program consists of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Levels 1 and 2 through the second grade with traditional programs through the fifth grade. The parish youth meet bi-monthly for prayer instruction and outreach.
Adult Baptismal Preparation, which is a cluster program, offers preparation for parent and godparents before the baptism of their children. It also offers Christian parenting support for three years.
Disciples in Mission, a three year evangelization program, which will be in its third and final year during Lent of 2010.
Inquiry Classes open to those seeking to learn more about the Catholic Faith, and R.C.I.A.
Educational Opportunities including Bible Study are offered by the parish and the cluster.
Marriage Preparation Classes are offered by the parish.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered Saturdays after the 4:00 p.m. mass by special appointment and through cluster Reconciliation services during Advent and Lent.
St. Anne Society meets monthly and sponsors a yearly triduum in July. The Solemn Closing takes place on the feast of St. Anne, July 16th.
Perpetual Adoration in the Eucharistic Chapel takes place around the clock.
